After Bogdan Wenta (CULT, Poland) and the Cavada Office (JURI, France) on 22 March, Fair Internet representatives met with MEPs Vicky Ford (IMCO President, UK) and Antonio Marinho E. Pinto (JURI, Portugal) on April 5th in Brussels.
Mrs Ford expressed her deep interest for the situation of performers and the current lack of an adequate remuneration framework for online uses of their performances.
Mr Antonio Marinho E Pinto was well aware of the current shortcomings of the online market and believed that the collection of a remuneration from the distribution platforms was an appropriate response to this situation. He expressed his strong support to the performers’ demands in this respect.
The Fair Internet partners take note with satisfaction of the MEPs’ growing interest for the situation of European performers and the legislative proposal put forward by the Fair Internet campaign.
